a) You provide directly:

• Family Wall: name, testimony/comment, optional photo, timestamp
• Contact/Prayer forms: name, email, phone, message

b) Automatically collected: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, and time (server logs). We do not use Google Analytics.

c) We do NOT collect: bank details (donations are handled off-site), national ID numbers, or sensitive health data.

3. Legal Basis (Act 843)

We process data based on: (i) your consent (posting a testimony), (ii) legitimate interest (website security, preventing spam), and (iii) legal obligation (keeping donation records).

4. How We Use Your Data

• Display your testimony on our Family Wall
• Respond to prayer requests and inquiries
• Protect our site (rate limiting, IP blocking for abuse)
• Comply with Ghanaian law

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

5. Cookies

We use CookieYes for consent management. Essential cookies remember your dark/light mode. Non-essential cookies are only set if you accept:

• YouTube, TikTok: video playback
• Google Maps: location display

You can change your preference anytime via the cookie banner.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the site (e.g., Cloudflare for security, hosting provider in Ghana). All are bound by confidentiality. We do not share with advertisers.

7. Data Retention

• Family Wall posts: kept indefinitely unless you request deletion
• Contact messages: 2 years
• Server logs/IP blocks: 12 months
• After retention, data is securely deleted

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, firewalls, regular updates, and restricted admin access. While we work hard to protect data, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

Under Act 843, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to processing

To exercise rights, email info@ugcghana.org with "Data Request" in the subject. We respond within 14 days. No fee required.

10. Children's Privacy

Our site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. Parents may contact us for removal.

11. International Transfers

Your data is stored on servers in Ghana. Embedded content (YouTube, etc.) may transfer data outside Ghana under their own policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change. Significant changes will be announced on our homepage.
